The Student Ethics Competition is jointly sponsored by IEEE Region 5 and the IEEE Ethics and Member Conduct Committee (EMCC).\u202f It encourages the study and awareness of professional ethics.\u202f Each team must analyze a hypothetical ethical case, prepare and deliver an analysis in a PowerPoint presentation (8-12 minutes), and defend their analysis and recommendations during a Q&A period (5 minute).\u202f The analysis and recommendations must be based on the IEEE Code of Ethics.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
IEEE Undergraduate and Graduate students, with a current IEEE membership, at universities throughout IEEE Region 5 are invited to compete. <\/span><\/p>\n The teams must submit their Intent to Compete form<\/a><\/u><\/b> by the deadline to be eligible to compete.<\/p>\n Teams are selected from the submitted pool on a first come first served basis. Selected teams will be notified to register for the R5 conference and participate in the competition. Team substitutions are at the discretion of the competition chair.<\/p>\n The first team from each school to submit an Intent to Compete form will be given preference and subsequent teams submitting an Intent to Compete form from that school will be waitlisted.<\/i><\/p>\n If after submitting your team\u2019s Intent to Compete, your team decides it will not be able to compete, please inform the Competition\u2019s Chair as soon as possible so that the next waitlisted team can be accepted into the competition.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n Instructions will be sent out to all accepted and registered teams one week before the competition. The competition chairs and volunteers are members of the channel, and will respond to any questions you might have.<\/p>\n We strongly recommend the participants to be part of the Discord server, as all the updates regarding individual competitions will be communicated via their corresponding channels (including during the day of the event).<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
