IEEE Region 5 Annual Business Meeting
The 2022 IEEE Region 5 Annual Business Meeting will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Hilton Houston North. IEEE Region 5 holds an annual meeting to approve it’s Executive Committee members, set goals, and determine an annual budget for programs and services. Each of the 26 Sections are expected to send a minimum of one voting representative to participate.
These Region 5 members assemble as a Committee to serve and support activities for more than 23,000 IEEE Members, and over 3,600 IEEE Student Members located within our geographic boundaries. The IEEE Region 5 Committee is composed of the Region 5 Officers, Executive Committee Program Chairs, and the 26 IEEE Section Chairs. The IEEE Region 5 Committee also supports student activities and services of more than 90 Student Branches, including Eta Kappa Nu Chapters.
This Committee meets once a year to conduct business for the region. Those attending will receive presentations and updates on IEEE Region 5 member programs, services, and identify resources beyond basic section funding.
These sessions will be led by the program chair members.
The goal for the Region 5 Annual meeting is for each representative to take away at least two new ideas to implement in their own section. Each R5 Executive Committee member will identify at least three new contacts to work with, and each section will encourage at least one new volunteer to be active in the region’s activities by supporting one or more programs. They will plan to attend a future annual meeting as a delegate.
The agenda for the meeting will be announced closer to the meeting date. Watch for your eNotice giving the details.
