Circuit Design

The Student Electronic Circuit Design Contest is sponsored by Region 5 IEEE. This contest provides a specific technical problem for a student team to solve.

Location/Transportation: The Circuit Design competition will be held at the University of Texas, Austin – Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Laboratories. The Competition site will be within walking distance of the R5 Student Competition site.

Time: Orientation begins at 8:00am

Design Problem: Problem is provided to the teams at orientation.

Eligibility and Cost: IEEE student members (undergraduate only) who are registered for the R5 Conference. A team consists of only two students.  Single-person “teams” are not allowed.  Student participants must have a current or pending IEEE membership.  There is no additional cost beyond student conference registration and IEEE membership.  Team substitutions are at the discretion of the competition chair.  Only one team is allowed from each student branch due to space limitations. The first team to register from each student branch will have priority unless otherwise designated by the branch counselor and/or competition chair.

Intent to Compete: If all proposed team members have already registered for the conference, please complete an interest form which is provided here.  All interest forms must be completed by the conference early-registration deadline of TBD, 2018. Forms will be processed in the order received up to the limit of teams allowed for this contest. Teams will be notified by email of acceptance or wait-listed status.
