Circuit Design

The Student Electronic Circuit Design Contest is sponsored by Region 5 IEEE. This contest provides a specific technical problem for a student team to solve.

Location/Transportation: University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Computing and Engineering Electrical and Computer Engineering Laboratories. Complimentary bus transportation will be provided to and from the competition site.

Time: Orientation begins at 8:00am

Design Problem: Problem is provided to the teams at orientation.

Eligibility and Cost: IEEE student members (undergraduate only) who are registered for the R5 Conference. A team consists of only two students.  Single-person “teams” are not allowed.  Student participants must have a current or pending IEEE membership.  There is no additional cost beyond student conference registration and IEEE membership.  Team substitutions are at the discretion of the competition chair.  Only one team is allowed from each student branch due to space limitations. The first team to register from each student branch will have priority unless otherwise designated by the branch counselor and/or competition chair.

Intent to Compete: If all proposed team members have already registered for the conference, please click here to complete an interest form.  All interest forms must be completed by the conference early-registration deadline of March 18, 2016. Forms will be processed in the order received up to the limit of teams allowed for this contest. Teams will be notified by email of acceptance or wait-listed status.
