The 2024 IEEE Region 5 Annual Business Meeting will be held in Springdale, Arkansas April 5-7, 2024  This year’s theme is “We are ONE IEEE”.  This is a two-and-a-half-day series of events designed to engage members, train volunteers, and share best practices among the technology leaders in the US Southwest.

On Friday, April 5, 2024, beginning with a reception starting at 6 PM, celebrating 140 years of IEEE!

The Annual Business Meeting will start on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 8 AM .

Our executive committee and representatives will set  goals, improve governance, and review our annual budget for programs and services. Each of our 27 Sections is expected to send a minimum of one voting representative to participate and represent their share of our ~24,000 members in Region 5, and 470,000 worldwide members.

After the morning business meeting, the ‘region congress’ begins and continues thought Sunday morning; breaking into sessions to build skills, share best practices and learn about new tools for our leaders and volunteers to serve their members, their community, and advance Technology for Humanity.

Awards and Honors

Saturday, April 6th beginning at 5:30p we host the Region’s first HKN Professional Chapter Induction Ceremony.  We will then present the 2024 Region Awards Program, celebrating the achievements of IEEE members and supporting organizations in 2023.

Student Competitions

Saturday we also bring students from our ~100 student branches together to compete in Robotics, Circuit Design, Ethics, Presentation and (NEW!) Cyber Challenges.  Prizes are awarded during the banquet on Saturday night.
