Student Competitions

IEEE Region 5 (R5) student competitions are scheduled to be held at Wichita on March 29, 2025. This year’s event will hold 6 different competitions in which students from R5 colleges can participate. Award Policy for IEEE Region 5

IEEE Region 5 established the following cash awards for IEEE Region 5 Student Competitions.  IEEE Region 5 Competition Student Branches will be awarded in the following manner:

Disbursement of Awards

  • The Awards will be disbursed upon conclusion of the IEEE Region 5 Student Competitions.
  • Awards for Robotics and Cyber Security will be disbursed to the teams’ Student Branches.
  • Student presentation, Circuit Design and Ethics awards are made by R5 to the individual winners.
  • A W-8 (foreign person) or W-9 (US person) withholding form is required by the IEEE Region 5 Treasurer prior to disbursement.  The winners must also provide their current mailing address.
